This herbacious plant is grown for it’s edible flower buds which can be harvested before the flower blooms. It’s leaves are a silver-green color and can have a prickly texture.

Sow 4 to 6 feet apart due to the size of the plant. Seeds should be stratified by placing them in a freezer for a week or two before planting.
